🐛Centipedes🐛

When you hear of creepy crawlies, you may think of spiders or beetles. However, personally, I tend to think of centipedes first before any other creepy bug, so let's learn some facts about them!

One of the most common misconceptions about centipedes is that they have 100 legs! However, it is physically impossible for them to have 100, as they are born with an odd number of legs, and they grow two legs per body segment! Another cool fact is centipedes' speed! The most common centipede, the house centipede, can run at 1.3 feet per second! That’s quite a speed, especially considering the biggest these guys get is 1.5 inches long.

As creepy as these crawlies are, they can also be quite sweet! A centipede mother takes very good care of her eggs, wrapping herself around her eggs and staying near her hatched children until they are ready to venture off on their own. Centipede moms are also found cleaning their eggs to prevent fungi growth.

If these strange creatures can care about each other, how much more should we love each other?

“And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.” - Mark 12:30-31
